TONY JAZZ RETURNS TO THE GRAND HOTEL MIRABELLE FINE DINING RESTAURANT EASTBOURNE REVIEW & VLOG 0CT 2025

The Mirabelle Restaurant at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is an award‑winning fine dining venue, renowned for its elegant atmosphere and exquisite modern European cuisine. Having experienced an outstanding review on my last visit a few years ago, whilst in town this year in my new home away from home, I decided that this was an excellent opportunity to indulge in some exceptional food theatre this side of the South East if not the UK.

🌟 Introduction to Mirabelle Restaurant

  • Location: Situated within the iconic Grand Hotel Eastbourne, a Victorian seafront landmark built in 1875.

  • History: Opened in 1989, the restaurant was named after its famous sister establishment in Curzon Street, London.

  • Reputation: Frequently listed among the top 50 restaurants in the UK by The Independent and featured regularly in the Good Food Guide.

  • Ambience: The dining room is beautifully furnished, offering a refined and tranquil setting. Guests can enter directly from the hotel or via a discreet side entrance.

I first decided to sample a lovely PASSION FRUIT & MANGO MOCKTAIL @the famous Cocktail Bar.The Cocktail Bar at The Grand Hotel Eastbourne is an elegant lounge offering premium drinks in a refined setting, located on King Edward’s Parade. It opens daily from 11 AM and is a popular spot for both guests and visitors.

The Cocktail Bar at The Grand is part of the hotel’s historic lounges, which have been central to Eastbourne’s social life since the hotel was built in 1875. The bar welcomes guests into a warm, sophisticated atmosphere where only premium beverages are served. It’s not just a place for cocktails—it’s a venue steeped in tradition, once chosen by the BBC for its weekly “Grand Hotel” broadcasts thanks to the unmatched acoustics of the Great Hall. I would recommend putting your order in before hand as its quite a popular venue for cocktails before dinner in this small town for many of the mature patrons dining out. Also expect a lot of nostalgic evening wear even gentlemen with dinner suits and bowties escorting their wives. However the dress code is officially casual but smart except for trainers.

I was delighted by my experience and for those who are a lover of the old fashion fine dining theatrical persuasion, then this is right up your street, from the candles on the tables and the chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings as the pianist plays a reportage of famous Hollywood musicals, its a place to forget time and watch the sea as time goes slowly by over some delicious creative dishes
